EA of the Pacific has really supported our team with a critical need during emotional crisis, such as coping with the unexpected passing of a colleague, their own mental wellness issue, facing a solution for substance abuse, dealing with abusive domestic situations, advice for personal legal & financial issues, or taking care of family which takes an emotional toll. It's confidential and provided free of charge to our team which makes it accessible for those in need. As well, whenever we ask the company to visit on site to provide services and do training to take away the stigma with asking for help, they respond to the call and provide a trusted and friendly face to these services. It makes a big difference not to only have a hotline to call but also to know that this team is local and knows the challenges our team faces day to day and to be able to personally connect to offer objective support outside of someone they know personally and be the bridge to getting long term care.

An example would be the Maui fires, contacting EAP--Dave and the team provide guidance--offer group support and individual counseling for our employees. Also when our employees experienced a life changing event while working i.e. active shooter, we tap into our resource at EAP to get signage for our locations on how to handle this situation safely and be available to provide support to our employees if needed. EAP really works as a silent support it's a resource for all of our employees and as HR professionals when our employees are going through a rough time in their lives, EAP is always mentioned as a resource and the employee may reach out right away or not.
